Field trip and big surprize

So, this week mom sent a fun package for the kids. There were signs with each of their names on them, candy, cookies and some other individual stuff. Robert's favorite was this gummy tongue and vampire teeth. Don't they look awesome!

She also sent a cute skeleton shirt for Austin.
Isabelle had a field trip to the fire dept. I had to have her look extra cute, so I tried out this new hairstyle.

Isn't she adorable!

I was proud that Isabelle was one of the girls that never got afraid of the truck or the fireman when he was putting on his gear. It was fun to see that she was one of the most talkative kids in the class. She kept wanting to tell the firefighters stories during their presentation. She and the other girls get along great. I also found out that there is a boy in her class that is the brother of a boy in Robert's class. How fun!

Isabelle has also turned into quite the social butterfly. Every day she asks me if she can play with somebody!!

Rob totally surprised me this weekend. Some friends of ours showed up and told us to take off while they watched this kids. My reaction was- but we were going to do yard work today! But Rob was like "let's go!" So, I knew something was planned.... This was our 8th anniversary celebration. Now, we actually got married in February, but we can choose any time we want to celebrate it right!
He took me to Oaks park amusement park
This is a place that Rob went to growing up. To me it's kind of like a mini Lagoon (in Utah). It was a lot of fun. Although, I just can not handle the spinning rides any more! My favorite part was actually the roller skating rink they had there. It comes with your admittance to the park. I hadn't been roller skating since my first year of college. But, whenever my dad would come to visit when I was young, I would always have him take me roller skating.

Rob and I skated for almost and hour. I loved it! It felt like a real date and that is definitely something we couldn't have done with the kids.

Something else Rob had rolled up his sleeve, was that he had packed nice clothes in the car for us to change into for dinner. He brought a dress, make up, shoes, and jewelry for me to change into. How sweet! He took me to an interactive dinner theater called "Who stole my dead Husband?" The people at our table were nice, the food was good (although it took a long time to get it...), and it was definitely very interactive. It was basically like a play, but they included the people at the table, sang songs, and we even got to dance on the dance floor there. It was so fun! Thanks Rob for doing such a great job for our anniversary!

This is a picture that they took of us at the table we were at.

More of the same...

This week.....
Soccer game. Robert had two soccer games this week- one Friday and one Saturday. We actually won the Friday game and at least scored a number of times on Saturday. On Saturday Robert blocked 3 goals for the other team and came close to scoring for ours. Does this mean he is starting to understand the game? Lets hope so!

My mom was the sweetest and made way cool matching Halloween aprons for me and Belly.

Austin got to sit up to the island for the first time this week.

Unfortunately, we don't have more pictures, but Auntie Rachel came over this weekend and we got to hang out and go to Saturday's Market in Portland with her and Mima while the boys went to watch the BYU game. The kids were so excited and we had a great time.

Preschool, Piano, and Pumpkins

So, we had a few more milestones this week. Isabelle had her first day of Preschool. She was so excited!! She finally could go to school just like Robert. But, the day she was to go the first time she got upset that I told her she couldn't wear a princess dress there, so she put on some wings and a fairy skirt. I had to remind her that those couldn't go either. She wore her wings in the car until we got to her school and she wasn't very happy with me. Her teacher had told her earlier that on Halloween she could wear a princess dress and so she asked, "Is it Halloween today?"

The next milestone was that I had my first piano lesson ever!! I was so excited! I can actually find middle "C" (and know what that is in the first place}. Rob bought some simple hymns and primary music and I actually played a couple of songs today. It was the BEST!!! Robert played in his first soccer game on Saturday. His poor team. They only scored one point the entire game. The other team creamed them. But, I don't think Robert could have cared less. He got to have a treat at the end! Running around and kicking the ball was ok too.

Of course Austin had to play soccer the whole time as well. The last milestone was that we harvested our first pumpkin from our garden! We planted many pumpkin plants this year and I know that we will get at least two pumpkins this year. This is the biggest we have so far....

As for other random news. I tried out a new hairstyle I thought was cute on Belly (thanks for the website recommendations Nekell).
For Rob's benefit, I will publish his slug graveyard. I think this is why we haven't been getting more pumpkins......

We also put up some pics over our stairs. We finally have some family pics up in our house!

First week of school etc

So, sorry I haven't written for a while. Last weekend we went up to Philomath to spend some more time with Rob's brother Mike and his family. I think that our daughters Isabelle and Abby were in heaven having a friend to play with for so long. I was really sad because I forgot to bring my camera! We missed some fun pics of everyone in their BYU shirts (the boys at least watched the first game of the season there). Also, I got some fun craft activities for the kids to do during the game. We made necklaces that looked like leis, used some of those flowers to glue onto crowns for the girls. We also made animal faces. I got the boys visors and they each got an animal face on their visor. It is also fun to go back and visit with our old ward.

On Labor Day Monday we went to the coast by our house for the first time since we have moved there. It was great. We went to Seaside, played in the sand, rode a carousel and tried on cool hats. We let the kids pick something to get if they wanted. As we were driving away Robert said, "I love Seaside, we get to buy things there."

This week Robert started 1st grade. He was really nervous because we had told him that he would now be going all day, not half day like in Kindergarten. I think he thought he would have to be there until he went to bed. After his first day he said that he loved his teacher, Mrs. Deklyen, and loves first grade.

Robert had soccer practice this week, and Austin kicked the soccer ball around as much as Robert did! He seriously wanted to get out on the field with the other boys. He would also watch what the other boys were doing and try to copy them. He tried to kick the ball into the goal a number of times. Then we had an Elder's quorum game night and the nursery people said that Austin kicked around and played with a ball the entire two hours he was there. Do we have a future ball player?

On Saturday Rob and I got the last minute opportunity to go to the BYU football game against the Washington Huskies. It was so fun! The stadium is right next to an inlet of water so we can watch boats moving around the same time as we are watching the game. The game was a nail biter, and it was fun to sit by a bunch of other excited cougars, including the Furin's from our ward! The only bad thing is that it took us about 4 1/2 hours to get home! The traffic was so bad.

We also had a girls/boys night that night, then in the morning had breakfast with my good friend Jeff Russon and his family. They now live about 25 min from us:). We had so much fun hanging out!
