Rob's 33rd b-day and more

So, I was too tired last week to post, but Rob had his birthday on the 21st. I really thought I would have had the baby by now, so, luckily I was actually prepared for his birthday.

The kids were not too great about keeping secrets this year. They all told Rob what they were going to do for his b-day when he asked. Robert REALLY wanted to bring him breakfast in bed. So, I woke up the kids early. I had Robert make some pancakes, Isabelle made the orange juice, and I made some bacon. We had Rob open his presents in the morning. The presents he opened were pretty small, but there was one from each of the kids and me. The biggest presents were in the form of coupons. The kids each decided what they would give to their dad and wrote it on a coupon with a picture of them and their Dad, I gave him some too. Hopefully, in not too long, he will complete the computer he has always dreamed of making, and get matching computer desks for the basement.

After the kids went to school, we cleaned up all of the syrup that ended up on our carpet all down the hall, in our bedroom, and all over our bedding! Ah, love.

Rob had to work all day. That night I made enchiladas verdes and mud pie for dessert. It really wasn't much for a birthday, but he said that he felt lots of love from the family all day.On to other things, Rob and Robert worked on legos together last Sunday. They had a blast. This is what Austin did while they were working on the Legos. We have gotten lots of snuggles lately. Actually, Austin is our alarm clock. I always know it is seven when I hear someone struggling to turn our doorknob. I love it when he comes in and snuggles me. He always says "I love you too" whether I say I love you first or not. What a cutie. Usually if Isabelle or Robert come in too, we have really slept in late!
I was given a surprise shower last Saturday. My friend Danile had asked me if I would go Maternity dress shopping with her. I agreed, I had looked up what stores to go to for the best dresses. She said she wanted to stop at Holly's house to drop off some videos, and behold, it was my shower! I wish I actually had pics of the shower, but here are the nice presents that we brought home, including the pretty blanket hanging on the crib. I feel so blessed!Isabelle has been more like "Fancy Nancy" than ever before. Every day when I do her hair it has to be curled-no pony tails, no braids, it has to be Princess hair!!! She has to put on lipgloss every day, many times perfume, and we just did nails this week as well. Sometimes she will have a ring on every finger. She is so cute, as long as I don't have to deal with more tantrums about me not doing her hair right etc!So, really I have been so disappointed that I haven't had the baby yet. At my last appt the midwife said she didn't think I would go over. Well, tomorrow is the due date and I haven't had this baby!!! At least they said that they would induce me by Wednesday if I haven't had the baby yet. My mom is coming on Tuesday, so I have to have the baby while she is here!

Rob told me that his Aunt would always go into labor after their family had gone out to dinner. So, we went out for dinner on Friday to a fun place called "The Blind Onion". We had a great time, but we didn't get to see a baby.
Rob's beard is growing in nicely, and both he and I actually like his facial hair this time!

Hopefully you will here from me by Wednesday that we have a baby apart from me!!

New Shelves, still pregnant

All this week, Rob has been working on some shelves that he envisioned since we moved here! It is so nice to have plans come to reality! He got some great instructions online, and now I don't have to move every bucket in the world to get to the bottom, and we have much more storage space. This has made both of us very happy!

Here is Rob working on it, he really didn't want me taking his pic...
Work in progress...
Finished product....
This week someone heard I wasn't feeling great lately because of the pregnancy and dropped by these flowers. They totally made my day!
I haven't been too excited to take all my pregnancy pics this time, I don't feel cute! But, here I am today, at 38 weeks. I really hope that this baby comes soon because I feel so sore all the time now!

Pirate Day

So, not much to report here. My kids earned enough on their obedience, chore, and work chart to go to the Pirate store! All of them wanted to dress up as pirates to go. I thought it was so fun! There is a really cool store in the Lloyd Center mall in Portland that is all about pirates. The store even gave them a discount for dressing up.

I also took a pic of the boys "boxing"on the wii. That is Robert's favorite thing to do on the wii and he is actually really good! For Homeschool art this week he and I did some soap carvings of fish. Robert was so proud. :)
We went roller skating again and the kids are doing so much better! I loved seeing Robert and Isabelle hold hands as they were skating, I should have brought the camera.

Have a good week!

Snow, makeup and more.

So, Isabelle got some lip gloss for Christmas and now feels like she needs to wear make up every day. Not just one layer, but she needs to put on a layer from every lip gloss she has, plus the Halloween make up she found in my room. I found her in her bed the other night with fresh lipstick on her lips. She didn't want to come out for stories, just went straight to bed. I made her clean up, but this is what she looked like beforehand. We had some snow this week. Robert made this fun tiny snowman.
The snow only lasted a couple of days until it rained.

We went swimming and rollerskating this week. It was the first time our kids have ever been roller skating and I was a little bit nervous about how they would do, so I made sure to bring Rob with me. But, I was amazed at how well they did.Ok, so at first there was a lot of falling, but they were all doing great by the end. Isabelle was off on her own from the very beginning and Austin felt very comfortable moving slowly the whole time. Robert was the one who struggled the most, but he was really starting to get it at the end. But, by then he was getting tired. I think this would be great for them if we kept going back.I can't believe how much Austin has grown and progressed at this point. His conversations are sounding like the other kids with full sentences and a great imagination. He loves to do word play by repeating things we've said, but with different letters. He still wants to hug me like 50 times a day, and I love every single one! He even asks me now, "Mom, can I hug you?"

Isabelle has started getting into Hannah Montana and singing one line of her song over and over and over. Unfortunately, it really reminds me of me when I was younger! She loves her make up and loves her Polly Pockets.

Robert is getting so much older and more mature I can't believe it! He changed Austin's diaper and changed him into his jammies tonight. He always helps clean up, buckle the other kids, etc. He is so helpful. He even started cleaning out his treasure chest and eliminating junk and organizing things all on his own volition. I am proud of him.

I can't believe how much he has loved this toy, it is a Vampire Robot to him!Robert also loves crystals, so we got him this crystal growing kit and worked on the first crystal today. He was so excited. We put Austin's car mat up in his room, and he loves his football slippers too!

Holiday Happenings since Thanksgiving.

So, one of the first things we did when we got home from Utah was get our Christmas tree. I love living right next to Fred Meyer, so we didn't even need to tie it to our car. :)Austin liked to wear the stockings around. We gave the kids their "chinky pins" from Hawaii and they were so excited! We took the kids on some "kid dates".

Rob took Robert and Austin to the Rocks and Minerals museum. I heard the boys just squealed with delight seeing all the cool rocks there.
I took Isabelle to the Nutcracker. I am SOOOO sad I don't have any pics! I told her that we were going to dress nice, and she picked out her Tinkerbell costume to wear. I did her hair up like Tinkerbell and put sparkles in her hair, she really looked like she could have been in the show.
I took her to a restaurant beforehand and we shared some ice-cream. Then I took her to the show. While there I bought her a rose (she ADORES fresh flowers).
I was a little worried if she would like it because there were no words and nothing to explain the storyline but dancing and song. I did my best to narrate for her. But she LOVED IT!!! She loved the beautiful costumes, dances and music. By the end, she got up and was dancing in the aisle during the performance! I talked to some girls in front of us and learned that they were giving flowers to one of the performers because she was a friend of theirs. Isabelle asked if she could give one of the performers her flower. I told her she could keep it or give it away, but she really wanted to give it to the girl playing Clara. She kept wanting to go up to the stage for the rest of the show to give it to her!
When she did give "Clara" the rose, Clara was really sweet and gave Isabelle a big hug.
Since the performance, Isabelle, Austin and I have acted out the nutcracker (At Belly's request), and have checked out a couple of books on it in the library.

We went to Fort Vancouver, a historical site here, and got to learn about some old Christmas traditions and take part in some craft making. You can't tell, but here we are making wreaths with pine bows and holly. We also made book marks.Belly got to do some dancing. We went to "Bethlehem" for our ward party that night. We have decorated a gingerbread house.
I made "Frosty the Cheeseball" for a party we went to. I thought it turned out so cute!
Belly wore her new Christmas dress to church today. I thought she looked so cute!
