Isabelle's 8th Birthday

 So, my little girl turned 8.  We are putting off her baptism until May, so we can do it with family in Utah.  I feel so lucky to have Isabelle as my daughter.  She is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met.  She is always willing to give whatever she has to other people and put others before herself.  She is the only one in the family willing to hold Talia's hand all night long.  She buys presents for all of the kids, even if they don't give her anything.  She loves the gospel.  She always says her prayers, and often sings songs to her Heavenly Father at night as well.  Could I ask for anything sweeter than this girl?  I am blessed.

The picture above is the sweet dress my mother gave her for her birthday.  The picture below is the baptism dress that Mema made for her.  We took some pics of her by the Portland temple in her baptism dress.

For Isabelle's birthday, she wanted to have a baking party.

This was the invite we used.  We actually had her info on here, but I couldn't get it onto the blog.


 
 I made a baker hat for each of the girls and they got to decorate it for the party.
 
 My friend and I made aprons for each of the girls with their initial embroidered on each one.

On the day of her actual birthday I made her fruit pizza and roast for dinner.

 I wish we had taken a picture, but we gave her a receipt for one of her presents.  She always tries to give me receipts and say that it is a present to be silly, so she got one back.

Robert's 11th birthday

 I must be crazy to do 3 birthday parties in 3 weeks, plus Valentines and anniversary.  But, here is my 3rd and last birthday of February.  Robert turned 11 this year and he is getting so big.  I can't believe how much taller, and mature he has grown in the last year.  He is spiritual, he is a ravenous reader, and he is a kind friend and brother.  I am very proud to have this young preteen (as he always likes to remind me) in my life.  Here are some excerpts from the day of his birthday and from his party.



 Robert's 11th birthday (on the day), opening presents. 

 For his birthday dinner he chose fettucini alfredo-his favorite.  I chose the veggies.

 Isabelle was really thoughtful.  She bought Robert this lion Webkins because she knew he wanted it.

 He got french silk pie on his birthday, he later admitted to trying to make dad happy with this one.

 He designed his cake with the legos that both grandma's gave him for his birthday, combining Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.  All of the kids love it!  We tried to make it look like Tatooine.

 Cut the flour game... (you have to cut the flour until the candy on top falls.  If it falls on your turn, you have to get it out with your mouth.)  Let me tell you, these kids were good sports.

 Birthday cake time

Austin's lost tooth and Lego 6th birthday!

 Austin lost his first tooth the day before Valentines.

 For his birthday party this year he really wanted a lego party.  This was his invitation.







For our first game, I had the kids look around the house for pics of lego guys for "Find it" lego bingo.











Then the boys made tried to make the tallest tower in a minute, and just make "something" to share out of legos.



I put Isabelle in charge of making an obstacle course for the boys, and I think she did a great job!


She said the boys had to spin in the chair 6 times since Austin was turning 6 today.
 

 I took Austin's Valentine's out of his box for school, added candy, and voila, I turned it into a piñata.

 
 
 Present time!

 Austin wanted to decorate the cake himself this year with lego guys and chocolate rocks.  We made a snake pit and a mountain as well.
 

When he was blowing out the candle, he blew it out (and I kept lighting it) the whole time we were singing happy birthday!  He is so funny!

He also got these fun ninja turtle things. :)


On Sunday we did his birthday dinner that he chose ( I was too worn out Saturday).  He picked spaghetti and breadsticks.  ( I also made him jello in duplo blocks, but forgot to bring it out for dinner!)

He always likes to have the biggest bowls, the biggest spoons etc.  so Rob gave him all serving spoons and forks for his dinner to be funny.  I also gave him a heaping serving of spaghetti, because he always eats a ton when we have spaghetti.





We gave him a new cowboy shirt for his birthday.  I think he looks handsome in it. :)
